I came across this today on social media, a website that kicks off with the first day, the first broadcast of MTV. The site then either shuffles random videos at you or you can choose decades based on preference. If .you had any love of MTV, its worth a look.
Follow the basic instructions and with a few clicks you can save videos to rewatch as you come across any old favourites. There are even nostalgic ads from the decades amongst it all to ad that true retro feel.
This isn’t a playlist you can organise by going through a directory and selecting, this is random, there is no algorithm targeting you based on your most listened genres and artists, it looks analogue and feels the same as you are at the mercy of what’s next. It’s not totally barbaric there is a next button but if you let it play it’s just as Music Television was intended.
How many videos to watch or discover, and yes the quality reflects the time.
