For us it was round 2, if you follow this blog you’ll know we did Knox Hill and friends in Brighton a couple of weeks ago (link here) and thought we’d head up to Bristol for another bite.
This time at the Exchange in Old Market Street in Bristol, a great small venue with an advertised 250 capacity. It felt busy but not sardine like packed so a great choice and for a warm evening had a cool outdoor space to relax before and after the festivities.

As with the last last show the nights focus was on Viktus then Knox Hill, sadly due to a few problems out of their control the support had to pull out but not to be disheartened, the two of them extended their sets to fill the evening. Who’s going to complain when the main acts play longer?
As per the last show Viktus was on point, delivering vocals effortlessly despite the obvious temperature on stage. He knocked his drink over which saw a steady supply fed from audience members much to his pleasure. Don’t mix drinks kids! But seriously a great set of older songs, some never performed before to add to the length and some new ones yet unreleased with the request not to post. Joined by Lily Sanger again for tracks mid set.

An hour in Knox took over and again delivered a controlled and faultless set. A great lyrical storyteller with great delivery, starting with a warm up routine which got the crowd cheering then track after track of great rap and hip hop. Again Viktus joined him for selection adding more to the evening and again a freestyle section with audience suggestions. Starting with ‘dinosaur’, ‘greenhouse’ and ‘sanctuary’ then it went ridiculously with words like ‘discombobulation’ but all dispatched with rhyming excellence. Viktus getting in on the act both ending up off the stage in the middle of the audience. And yes we everyone sang happy birthday as expected. The merch stand was manned by the acts and time was given to all on the night.
Another great night of music and fun. If you get the chance to catch one of these show I highly recommend it.
