Like most record collectors I am always scanning resale sights as well as stopping off at vintage and second hand record shops, sometimes you spot some gems you have to own. There are some bands that im always searching for and New Fast Automatic Daffodils is one of them.
If you dont know them, they were an alternative rock group from Manchester, England, that were active between 1988 and 1995 and to this day have a cult status, they were different, unique and stuck with me ever since I first heard ‘Big’ back in 1991 (released in 1990).
This week I saw a 12″ copy of ‘Lions’ by the New FADS from 1989 and without hesitation hit the button to buy it, great addition to the collection. It arrived and to my delight there was an original press release from 1989 slid inside the sleeve. Ive checked back on the advert and cannot see it mentioned, just a great small piece of history to own and something you never see these days in this digital era. A great lucky find.
