I had not seen Don Broco until this summer, I was aware of the name but they were not in my vinyl collection or even in my algorithm at that time. Then thanks to a support slot a for Biffy Clyro they became part of both when they stole part of that day and became…
Reef stopped off in Southampton at The 1865 on their 30th Anniversary Tour of the album Replenish, yes 30 years ago. An English rock band, sometimes called at the time surf rock, originally from Glastonbury with founder members Gary Stringer on vocals and Jack Bessant on bass, now with Amy Newton on guitar and Luke…
It was a swift ticket grab when the notification popped up that Senser were coming to town, to be honest it’s just as swift if it’s a couple of hours away like the last two times in Bristol. Always a great show put on by a band I’ve been listening to since I first heard…
I’m a hypocrite by saying that i’m afraid. I have always liked the phrase “if you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem”, and thats me! In the early to mid 90s, certainly when the house was empty, MTV was always on, a true mainstay of my days. Yes we had Top…

I’ve seen them a number of times in the past at festivals and earlier this year supporting the Happy Mondays but to see them in such an intimate setting…
Yes I like music videos, I grew up as part of the MTV generation, instead of playing music all day I would often put MTV on the TV in the front room, turn it up and enjoy the visual as well as the music. This was in the good old days of music shows such…
I finally found something worth living for? Well we did, 30 years ago on the 10th of October 1994. This was the 4th single off Definitely Maybe and what a single, what an anthem! Cigarettes and Alcohol Is it my imaginationOr have I finally found something worth living for?I was looking for some actionBut all…
In 2023, 125 grassroots music venues in the UK closed for good. The places where so many great bands are play and sometimes start their ascent just simply having a hard time keeping their door open. This news is not new and the reason why events such as Independent Venue Week exist. That event which is the UK’s…
