If you do not know these names and you see them advertised at a local show or you just come across them streaming you should stop and take a look, there some great music to be found. Ekoh is a rapper from Las Vegas, currently touring the UK with Ryan Oakes, a rapper from Los Angeles as support.
Yes there rappers but with heavy sampled backing tracks, live drums and DJs theres a lot more to it than that. Its alt rock leaning more to the Linkin Park territory at times, these was even a re-imagining of ‘Numb’ at the end, along with a re-imagined ‘Butterflies’.

There was no overproduction of anything, a simple show but certainly not in a negative way. These guys are just putting themselves out there and letting their talent do the talking. I was a aware of them both but no real knowledge of much, but I went with a fan and we both left having had a great night. Some good banter with the audience although im not sure Ekoh will mention eating beans on toast to an english crowd again as he was somewhat bombarded with serving suggestions, who knows maybe there is a song there?

It was Ryan Oakes Birthday so a cake did appear on stage which got the audience singing an obvious round of Happy Birthday which then nicely led into the two of them performing their single ‘Popstar’ together.
The night finished with a number of those in attendance throwing one of their shoes on stage to be signed. Ekoh had a collab with Vans so i think the initial idea was anyone in Vans to throw them onstage for a signature, it ended up any shoes including some knee high boots.
A great night out and worth looking up and going if you can while they are still in the UK.
