It was a Sunday night in Bournemouth and I’ve just seen the Snuts! Yes that means something!
The Snuts took to the stage to the expected cheers. I’ve been a fan, vinyl buyer and regular streamer for a while now but seeing them in a small arena is just another level. They’ve been a band since forming in 2015 so plenty of time to hone their craft but live you get the feeling this all just comes naturally to all four of them.

Singer Jack Cochrane just looks exactly where he should be, Joe McGillveray on guitar, Callum Wilson on bass and Jordan Mackay on drums are the same, they are all unassuming but together at the risk of sounding cheesy, magic happens!
Song after song this indie rock band from West Lothian in Scotland just delivered rousing riffs and optimistic choruses over a great rhythm section. High energy anthems that just feel relateable.

Online sources cite the band as saying bands such as The Libertines and Arctic Monkey as inspiration. Maybe it’s the singers glasses, his look but also his voice and lyrics, everything really that seeing tham live reminds me of Talk Talk, the alt-rock, post-rock band from the eightes. There’s something interesting, different that set them apart from their peers.
The only downside of the night was they were playing a support slot but are now up the top of my list of bands I want to see in a headline slot as soon as one is advertised.
