Yeah Yeah Yeah – It’s a Cast Outstore

I saw Cast again last night at an outstore through Vinilo Record Store promoting their new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ which reached #8 in the album charts this week. For a band that formed in 1992, 34 years ago that’s a serious accomplishment. Especially in this fickle music streaming based society we live in. That’s what the combination of great songs and a loyal fanbase does.

Opening up with Poison Vine, the first track from the album, it was instant pure Cast, these were advertised as a stripped back show but that was instantly irrelevant, just two guitars and drums but sound filled the space.

I read the PR which quoted John Power “Yeah Yeah Yeah’ just arrived out of the blue. I just took a chance. I had some ideas for a new album i’d been working on”.

I’ve been listening all week, the album is great, it moves from a personal favourite ‘Teardrops’ which has a classic Cast feel in anthem like tracks like ‘Free Love’ and ‘Poison Vine’, it’s just great, track after great track, a true no skip album!

Another PR quote from the band “I think with ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ it was more than just trying to capture a vibe – it was about trying to record something majestic, which is how youth describes the record.

Only a nine song setlist and no support but that’s an outstore, still felt spoilt on the night. Heres the Setlist. (Videos on our Tik Tok)

– Poison Vine
– Don’t Look Away
– Say Something New
– Way It’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah)
– Teardrops
– Free Love
– Devil and the Deep
– Live the Dream
– Walkaway

The band were in fine form, fresh off the Oasis tour as support. I last saw them on tour at the end of 2024, I’m still listening to ‘Love is the Call’ how time flies, that feels like yesterday. The crowd enjoyed the night and by the conversations overheard in the queue outside my feelings on this album are equally shared by all.

All that’s left now is to enjoy Yeah Yeah Yeah, await the next tour and have a thought for the band as this album just made picking the next full setlist a bit tricky.
